Residents sue HOA to nullify count

HOA suitThey say builder can’t claim votes for vacant properties

For the past two annual meetings of the Oasis at Magic Ranch homeowners’ association, D.R. Horton home builders has submitted votes for each of its vacant lots to swing the election, say residents who have filed suit to have those votes thrown out.

At the most recent election on March 23, D.R. Horton submitted its votes on a single sheet of paper. Some residents present aggressively questioned the integrity of the vote and the meeting ended in chaos without a formal motion to adjourn, resident Ed Brennan said.
