Infrastructure projects highlight Mesa capital improvement program

The City of Mesa’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget for fiscal year 2016-17 will be the biggest over the next five years ($316M) as the Southeast Valley city adds major projects to its infrastructure construction plans.

Major projects added with the new 5-year CIP include a permanent household hazardous waste facility, $3.1M, design FY 16/17, construction FY 17/18; Red Mountain Multi-Generational Center improvements, $850,000, construction FY 16/17; Elliot Road transportation corridor, $17.2M, design FY 16/17, construction FY 17/18; and a South Canal share use plan (consolidated canal to McDowell Road), $2.6M, design FY 16/17, construction FY 17/18.
