Peoria: Meet your city council candidates

Peoria voters on Aug. 30 will be tasked with picking City Council members who will help shape development in the northern portion of the city while maintaining the southern portion.

Bolstering city services and attracting high-paying jobs are common themes in the campaigns.

The Arizona Republic asked candidates in contested races a series of questions about their qualifications, priorities and views on city policies. Below are excerpts from some of their responses. In the Willow District, incumbent Jon Edwards is running unopposed.
