County crafts new rules for tiny homes

Collin Bass sits with his dog, Lucca, outside of his off-grid tiny house in a rural community south of Flagstaff. Coconino County is creating a new policy related to building, zoning and wastewater requirements for tiny homes.

The way Collin Bass describes living in his 200-square-foot home sounds anything but cramped and uncomfortable. Bass started building his tiny home south of Lake Mary in January 2015 and has been living in and working on the structure since then, he said.
