Bird aviary, hotel among development to transpire at OdySea in the Desert. First there was a “butterfly pavilion, aquarium and a dolphinarium”; now there are plans for “a bird observatory, dinosaur park and a hotel” — not to mention a “-5 degree… environment called Polar Play.” According to Scottsdale Independent,“lead developer Dr. Amram Knishinsky… says [his ‘ultimate goal’]… is to offer families a place to come and be able to stay on the property for two to three days, entertained by the multiple attractions offered.” It sounds like such a happy place, it almost makes you want to shout “I’m goin’ to KnishinskyLand!” Much more about it here: http://bit.ly/2k3owTX

Tucson asks Supreme Court not to overturn its unique council-election system. Arizona Supreme Court hears Horne appeal. “Arguing that Yavapai County Sheila Polk impermissibly acted as judge, jury and executioner in their campaign finance case, lawyers for former Attorney General Tom Horne and his ally Kathleen Winn urged the… Court to throw out a $400,000 fine for their alleged violation… Assistant Yavapai County Attorney Benjamin Kreutzberg argued that Polk’s role in the case was perfectly permissible.” But, according Arizona Capitol Times, the justices weren’t buying it, including Justice Clint Bolick, who likened “the system Polk used “ to “the New England Patriots asking the Atlanta Falcons to rule on their penalties in Sunday’s Super Bowl matchup.” More on the case here: http://bit.ly/2k3HK6K
