Casa Grande couple plans to debut tiny home

Bernice Penn Venable is at a stage in her life when she doesn’t want to be tied down to one particular place.

The 67-year-old retiree is a cancer survivor, so she’s looking to fill her days with adventure rather than more material things. She and her husband, Walter, have spent the last couple years downsizing their lives, moving into smaller places and getting rid of stuff they don’t need.

It’s in preparation for when they occupy a custom-built tiny home they’ve designed themselves. The mobile, little home is nearing completion, and once finished, the couple plan to make Casa Grande they’re first destination.
