Mixed-used development goes to Glendale Council

The Glendale City Council will hold a public hearing on a proposed mixed-used commercial development at the northwest corner of Bell Road and 51st Avenue, 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, Council Chambers, 5850 W. Glendale Ave.

The Planning Commission has endorsed an application to rezone the 20 acres, which also would allow for retail, self-storage and drive-thru restaurants. 51 Campana has 11 commercial pads.

Planning staff has recommended applicant Empire Group’s proposal be approved based on a number of findings, including it is a creative and effective use of land.

Dignity Health is coming to the site, along with mixed retail and fast food establishments.
