Six lots in new subdivision in flood zone

FLORENCE – The Town Council OK’d a new 75-home subdivision in Sun City Anthem, but also approved a “lot hold agreement” with Pulte Homes not to sell or build on six lots that are currently in “FEMA Flood Zone A,” or vulnerable to a 100-year storm.

Development Services Director and Town Engineer Chris Salas said this issue is unrelated to the many Anthem homes that appeared to be in a flood plain last year due to a FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) mapping error. That error has since been corrected.
