Coolidge revamps Main Street, gives Historical Loop a facelift

COOLIDGE — The city of Coolidge has launched its last phase of roadwork on the “Historic Loop,” with a project designed to reconstruct Main Street.

This is the third of three major projects in the area. The first to be completed was Coolidge Avenue in 2014, then Central Avenue in 2016. Combined with Arizona Boulevard, the project on Main Street will complete the new-look Historic Loop.

In total, the project has cost an estimated $2,100,417. More than half of that sum, $1,332,653, comes from federal funding. The rest was covered by a tax obligation bond that will not only cover the roadwork on Main Street but will also help the city improve other areas like Vah Ki Inn Road.
