Judge reverses decision in Pinal racetrack case because of ‘threatening’

Facebook comments have prompted a Pinal County judge to reverse an order to have prosecutors disclose an informant’s identity in an ongoing criminal case involving an unsanctioned racetrack operation.

In July, Superior Court Judge Kevin White ordered the Arizona Attorney General’s Office to reveal the name of a source who leaked information about a horse racing venue, known as “Carril Pantoji,” that operated near Picacho five years ago.

Suspected associates of the unregulated racetrack were indicted last year on various charges including money laundering, conspiracy and the promotion of gambling.
