New senior housing was approved by Casa Grande Planning and Zoning commissioners Thursday night, but it won’t come to fruition without further approval from the federal government.
That’s because the owners are applying to create a rent-controlled complex that will benefit senior citizens. Owners of Kachina Apartments, 316 N. Avenue A, want to start the project in an effort to help alleviate the strain caused by a lack of low-income to moderately affordable homes in the city.
