Quick Quack building permits revoked after outcry

According to www.azcentral.com, after almost three hours of debate on Feb. 8th, the Tempe City Council revoked building permits for a Quick Quack Car Wash planned at Baseline Rd. and McClintock Dr.

The council chamber was standing-room only as over 40 residents voiced their concerns, the article continued; opponents outnumbered those in favor of the carwash 3-to-1.

The opposition’s concerns focused mostly on noise and traffic while those in favor said that a carwash would be an upgrade from the old gas station that used to sit on the corner, the article noted.
