Tucson-based Canyon Building & Design has broken ground on two new hotels being built on 44th Street in Phoenix near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
The hotels are being built on about 4 acres of land located just south of Loop 202 on 44th Street. They will be across the street from the Residence Inn by Marriott and in the same area as a number of other hotel airports. It is near the main enterance of Sky Harbor and about half a mile from the PHX Sky Train station at 44th and Washington streets.
One hotel is a four-story, 128-room Holiday Inn Express, and the other is a four-story, 119-room Home2 Suites by Hilton. The hotels are expected to be finished by spring 2019.
