Maricopa plans to hire Horst as new city manager

The Maricopa City Council is scheduled to vote in a new city manager Tuesday.

In a press release Monday, the city said they will vote on a contract to hire Ricky Horst as the Maricopa city manager. The contract would begin on June 25 and run through June 24, 2021, and would set a starting salary of $180,000, with a raise possible after the first year.

Horst is currently the city manager of Rocklin, California. According to the Rocklin website, Horst has more than 30 years of management and leadership experience, which includes 25 years in a city manager position.
