Meghan McCain tells Orrin Hatch, others to ‘chill out’ about her father, Sen. John McCain

Meghan McCain on Tuesday rebuked Sen. Orrin Hatch, who on Tuesday suggested President Donald Trump should attend Sen. John McCain’s funeral, asking everyone to “take a collective breath and chill out on my dad.”

Speaking on ABC-TV’s “The View,” Meghan McCain appeared frustrated as her father’s battle with brain cancer is enveloped in controversy about funeral plans even as he remains at home in Cornville. She asked for respect during a difficult time.

“He’s doing really good. He’s just making jokes, talking, standing, doing a great recovery. He has a great team around him,” she said of her father, a six-term Arizona Republican and the 2008 GOP presidential nominee.
