State: No signs of health concerns in air around egg farms in West Valley

State environmental-quality and health agency officials say there are no signs of health concerns in Tonopah and Arlington, where residents have complained for years of chemical emissions from operations at Hickman’s Egg Farms.

The state wrapped up a first round of testing in March, with more refined testing to follow in May or June.

The study measured the air for two gases common in animal waste: ammonia and hydrogen sulfide.
