While there is still much up in the air, the process of overhauling the water and sewer utility in San Tan Valley took a big step on Thursday.
After a lengthy process, the Arizona Corporation Commission voted to appoint EPCOR as the interim manager of Johnson Utilities, following its staff’s recommendation.
“When this solicitation was put out by commission staff, we felt pretty strongly we could help the customers in San Tan Valley,” said Shawn Bradford, vice president of corporate services for EPCOR.
Staff narrowed the choices for an interim manager down to EPCOR and the towns of Queen Creek and Florence after the commission voted to appoint an interim manager, and staff were in meetings with the two entities during the week.
