Leaders share Surprise housing project plans

City and business leaders updated residents this week on plans to revitalize one of Surprise’s oldest neighborhoods.

Vice Mayor Ken Remley hosted representatives from Gorman & Company, Inc. at his District 4 monthly community meeting June 27 at Surprise Community Center, 15832 N. Hollyhock St.

Gorman is partnering with the Maricopa County Housing Authority to develop an affordable-housing complex, which is just one component of a major revitalization project announced for the city’s Heritage District at a meeting late last year (“Officials unveil project plans: partners, residents discuss revitalization efforts for Original Town Site,” Surprise Today, Dec. 6, 2017).
