One of the city’s most influential and active commissions voted last week to elect new leadership for the advisory panel.
The Surprise Planning and Zoning Commission convened their regular July 19 meeting at City Hall, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza, during which the seven-member group deliberated and selected a new chair and vice chair; while another commissioner opted to leave the voluntary board.
Outgoing chairman Ken Chapman led off the proceedings by requesting nominations from group, after which Dennis W. Smith nominated Matthew Keating to take on the chairmanship.
