Avondale continues park renovations to enhance community

It’s a series of renovations that continues to truck on.

Throughout the last few years, minor renovations have been made to Avondale neighborhood and community parks. But this fiscal year, the council invested resources to address a handful of upgrades that have been on hold.

“Over the course of the last several years, there were only marginal renovations and improvements that had been taken care of at the parks to sustain a level of safety,” said Kirk Haines, Avondale’s Parks and Recreation Department director. “The goal coming into this year was to raise our service level for our residents to a higher level.”

Haines also said there were things within the parks that really did need to be corrected, updated and rejuvenated.
