Coolidge lands grant for airport upgrades

By Jacob Dorsey | Pinal Central

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced on July 8 that Coolidge will receive one of two airport grants, for $6.5 million, as part of a massive infrastructure package.

The overall investment of $1.73 billion includes improvements to “roadway, transit, rail, maritime and aviation infrastructure” through the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development, or BUILD, grant program.

Out of a total 127 projects receiving funding, only two airports received grants — New Orleans International Airport in Louisiana and Coolidge Municipal Airport.
