Land donation for school being considered by Peoria Unified board

The Peoria Unified School District is considering accepting a 15-acre land donation for an elementary school in the Meadows community within the Camino a Lago development at Williams Road and 95th Avenue.

If approved Dec. 11 by the governing board, and eventually built, the school would feed into Liberty High School, 9621 W. Speckled Gecko Dr., located down the street.

Deputy Superintendent Steve Savoy said in exchange for the donation, the district must reimburse $527,448 to owner Camino A Lago LLC for easement infrastructure already installed on the property.
