Initial steps to make way for a new mixed-use development on a 12.3-acre site, including “flex” office space and multifamily residential units in south Scottsdale, has been approved by Scottsdale City Council.
On Jan. 15, City Council unanimously approved on consent a request to approve a zoning district map amendment changing the land use to Planned Use Development, and declare “The McDowell Rezoning and Development Plan” a public record.
The site is at 6601 E. McDowell Road, and owned by Chapman McDowell LLC. The project is under the guise of JLB Partners.
The proposal calls for redevelopment of a site occupied by an auto dealership into a new mixed-use development. The site plan consists of a three-story building adjacent to east McDowell Road, a four-story apartment building central to the site and single-story garage buildings.
