Two years ago, Peoria saw a big jump in the number of multi-family permits approved by the city.
In 2017, 156 multi-family building permits were approved, while none were approved the previous year. Three permits were approved in 2015 and 15 in 2014.
There are multiple theories as to the big jump, but now the city is starting to see the results, with more activity expected.
Peoria is seeing movement on three large-scale apartment complexes totaling nearly 1,000 units.
