Modeling agency suing Wendy Rogers over campaign attack ads

The Young Agency, based in Phoenix, filed the lawsuit a couple months ago after Rogers put out attack ads against one of her primary opponents.

Court records show Wendy Rogers has denied defaming a modeling agency last year during her congressional campaign after she accused her opponent of being connected to sex trafficking.

The Republican politician, who lost to incumbent Democrat Tom O’Halleran in Arizona’s 1st Congressional District, is the subject of a pending civil lawsuit that accuses her of defamation and invasion of privacy.

The Young Agency, based in Phoenix, filed the lawsuit a couple months ago after Rogers put out attack ads against one of her primary opponents, former state Sen. Steve Smith, who also worked at the modeling agency.

The Rogers campaign made a website called “Slimy Steve,” which suggested Smith’s job associated him with Model Mayhem, a modeling promotion site that some media reports have linked to sex trafficking.
