U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., urged members of a congressional committee this week to support better cellphone service for residents of an RV park east of Casa Grande.
On Wednesday, Arizona’s senior senator told the Senate Commerce Committee that residents of Sunscape RV Resort, located near Eleven Mile Corner Road and Selma Highway, often don’t have reliable cellphone service in their area.
This spotty service can be dangerous for these residents, Sinema added, as it can inhibit their ability to call 911 in the event of an emergency.
“Sunscape’s story should serve as a reminder that as we discuss the benefits of moving from 4G to 5G in the cities, there are communities all across my state and our country that still don’t have reliable 3G,” Sinema said.
Larry Jordan, manager of Sunscape, told PinalCentral bad cellphone service has been an issue for years and has led to some scary situations.
