La Paz County officials and members of Arizona’s Congressional delegation are thrilled that President Donald Trump signed the La Paz County Land Conveyance Act Tuesday, March 12. The law allows La Paz County to purchase up to 6,000 acres in the eastern part of the county held by the Bureau of Land Management for economic development.

The county had long sought this land for possible solar power development. The county will be required to pay fair market value for the land, as well as all costs related to the conveyance, including surveys and appraisals.

The bill was sponsored by Arizona U.S. District 4 Rep. Paul Gosar and both of Arizona’s Senators, Martha McSally and Kyrsten Sinema.
