These areas southeast of Phoenix are hottest for new home construction

Region’s housing market remains steady as economy continues to grow

Casa Grande and Coolidge — about an hour and a half drive from Sky Harbor Phoenix International AIrport — are all the rage these days with homebuilders.

The two cities between Tucson and metro Phoenix show the biggest growth in single-family building permits in the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona’s most recent Valley report.

Between January and May, Coolidge showed a 2,800% year-over-year growth, while Casa Grande showed a 498% growth in permits during the same period.
