Dignity Health and Phoenix Children’s celebrate expansion milestone

Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert Medical Center and Phoenix Children’s Hospital celebrated a major milestone Tuesday in the construction of the new Women’s and Children’s Pavilion on the Mercy Gilbert campus as the final steel beam of the structure was set into place.

The state-of-the-art medical facility, designed to care for women and children in the East Valley, is a partnership between Dignity Health, one of the nation’s largest health systems, and Phoenix Children’s, Arizona’s only nationally recognized pediatric hospital. 

The Women’s and Children’s Pavilion, which will be 378,000 square feet, will include 24 labor and delivery rooms operated by Mercy Gilbert which will have the capability to care for high-risk births. The facility will also have 48 post-partum beds.
