The town of Gilbert is seeking bids to develop a “hotel, resort, retail, conference center space or a combination of thereof” on about 10 acres of town-owned land at Gilbert Regional Park, according to a town document posted online.

Town officials posted on the town website July 24 the request for qualifications notice, which describes what the town is looking for and application deadlines.

“It is just an exploratory request to see what type of interest there might be,” said Robert Carmona, the director of parks and recreation for the town. “We don’t necessarily have it narrowed down in scope; we are just looking to see what the private sector developers would like to do on that site.”
