Valley custom homebuilders see prices settling in, new features in demand

Custom home building is big business in Arizona, and with the market upswing it’s become even more in demand.

Buyers willing to shell out millions of dollars on a home aren’t necessarily looking to redo someone else’s work but are more inclined to start fresh. That leaves a lot of room for prices to escalate.

Custom and luxury homebuilders say prices this year are primarily consistent, albeit up from several years ago, even as customers are asking for new and different amenities.

The Business Journal asked several of this week’s top custom homebuilders what they are seeing in requests for houses and how much those properties were going for. Here is what they had to say:
