Gilbert to vote on new apartments

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The Gilbert Town Council is scheduled to vote Thursday on a planned 216-unit new apartment development on Gilbert Road near the municipal complex and Gilbert Town Square.

Watermark Residential wants to build the multifamily project, Watermark at Gilbert Town Square at Gilbert and Knox roads.

The council will consider rezoning 10.32 acres for the three-story Watermark apartments. The land is currently zoned for offices.

Gilbert has been reticent on some new apartment projects. The Gilbert Chamber of Commerce backs the rezoning for the new apartments.
