Able Aerospace Services, a Textron Aviation Inc. company, recently opened its $9 million building expansion in Mesa to support new technology, new business lines and hire up to 100 new employees.

With more than 460 employees, Able Aerospace is now the largest employer in the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport area, according to a company spokeswoman.

The 60,000-square-foot expansion at its southeast Mesa headquarters adds to the existing 200,000-square-foot facility where it provides more than 10,000 FAA-approved component repair, overhaul and replacement parts for aircraft.
