Michigan coffee chain could land in East Valley

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

Development plans for a parcel at the Loop 101 and Guadalupe Road could bring a Michigan coffee chain to the East Valley.

Thompson Thrift Retail Group wants to build a new convenience store and gas station on a 1.19-acre site in Mesa.

Part of those development plans including opening a Biggby Coffee location. The chain is based in Michigan.

There are currently two office buildings on the site. Thompson Thrift wants to demolish those for the planned service station and coffee shop.

The Biggby Coffee location would include a drive-thru.

The Mesa Planning Commission will look at site plans and requests for a special use permit at its meeting tomorrow.
