Our aluminum plant will be a responsible neighbor and community asset in a part of Arizona that needs desperately investment and jobs.

We were extremely disappointed in The Republic’sfront-page story on a proposed job-creating aluminum manufacturing plant in rural La Paz County.

The article has factual errors, glosses over the economic and community benefits of the investment and gives credence to unfounded social media conspiracy theories.

The manufacturing plant will bring jobs, economic activity and needed local tax revenue to an empty parcel in between two small rural towns.

Alliance Metals USA will pump $30 million over several phases into the Wenden and Salome communities, creating construction jobs as well as 30 permanent jobs.

Those matter in La Paz County, which is two hours west of Phoenix on the Colorado River.
