Tempe considering plans for new Town Lake office building

The Tempe City Council is considering plans by Irgens for a new 100,000-square-foot office building on the north side of Tempe Town Lake.

The 999 Playa development is located south of the Loop 202 and just east of Rural Road. Irgens plans call for a six-story, 83-foot tall office building.

The council held a first public hearing on the project and Irgens development plans on Sept. 12. A second and final hearing on the real estate project is scheduled for Sept. 26.

Irgens is asking Tempe for development overlay and site plans approvals for the 2.32-acre property.
