The Citizen Advisory Committee has announced its five recommendations to fill the vacant Maricopa County attorney position.
They include three internal candidates and four women. Maricopa County has never had a female county attorney.
The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors will make the final choice, likely Wednesday or Thursday, on who will finish out Bill Montgomery’s term.
The position was left empty when Gov. Doug Ducey appointed Montgomery to the Arizona Supreme Court.
The applicants had to be a lawyer and a registered Republican.
