Poll: Arizona voters support current process, but not impeachment

Arizona voters support the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, but a majority say they so far oppose impeaching him for leveraging U.S. foreign aid to Ukraine to persuade that country to investigate his chief Democratic rival, according to a poll released yesterday.

The New York Times Upshot/Siena College (SCRI) poll surveyed voters in six battleground states: Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. 

In Arizona, 53% of voters backed the impeachment inquiry and only 40% opposed it. But when those voters were asked what they thought about impeaching Trump and removing him from office, 52% were opposed and 45% were in favor. The pollsters noted that 10% of Arizona voters surveyed supported the inquiry but opposed removing Trump by impeachment.
