Liberal activists are coming for Democratic Sen. Kyrsten Sinema again, infuriated by her support of two of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees and her refusal to join Democrats trying to reinstate net neutrality rules to prevent internet providers from throttling websites.
The progressive caucus of the Arizona Democratic Party is asking state party activists to vote during the party’s annual meeting on Jan. 25 in Yuma to formally advise Sinema, D-Ariz., of its “disapproval” for her failure to support all of the tenets of the party’s 2016 platform.
The resolution must first be reviewed by a party committee before going to the full party.
The two-page resolution is a major concession by progressives and comes amid speculation about how Sinema will vote on the articles of impeachment that accuse Trump of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
