I find out I have a daughter,’ Scottsdale lawmaker Jay Lawrence announces on social media

Arizona lawmaker Jay Lawrence, R-Scottsdale, on Sunday shared details on social media of connecting with a daughter he didn’t know about from a romantic fling that took place decades ago when he was in the U.S. Air Force.

Lawrence broke the news on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, surprising many with the abruptness of the announcement amid a post that started off as a commentary about the pro-life Arizona for Life March and Rally, which took place Saturday.

“Arizona Rally For Life. Amazing event. Speakers, Governor Ducey. Bishop Olmsted, Abby Johnson, Ryan Scott Bomberger. Many more. Over 100 thousand in crowd. I find out I have a daughter from an Air Force affair. She is beautiful, LDS, lives in Utah. What a week.”
