Having started with Haydon BC 10 years ago as Assistant Controller, Katie Haydon Perry has ascended to among the highest rungs on the leadership ladder at a company that has brought Arizona such projects as Ottawa University in Surprise, Casa Grande Community Recreation Center, NAU Center for Aquatics & Tennis, Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, and El Mirage City Hall — just to name a few.
We caught up with the future Haydon Building Corp. president who gave us an account of one of her typically busy days.
———————————————————
5AM alarm, yoga flow on my peloton tread (I know, sounds confusing), working on my inner Zen
7AM kid chaos, wake/clothe/feed/brush/drop at school, 2 schools for now, next year is one (mom WIN)
8:30AM make it to office where steady stream of people and questions come flooding in my direction
10AM first of 5 meetings for the day
12PM lunch at my favorite spot, The Henry, with an old friend I used to play polo with, reminder of the “good ol’ days” (Dr. Sickler: we were pretty badass)
2PM interviewed a potential strategic BD director, looking to shift the direction and expand the focus of our organization
Afternoon full of meetings
5PM baseball practice with my kindergartner
Evening of chaos!
9:30PM catch up on a little Chopped, then off to bed.
Was present and engaged with my business, guiding my extremely capable team, quality time and some craziness with my kids, yoga, all-in-all a great day!
