$100M transportation bond ready for Mesa voters

Mesa voters are likely to see a $100 million transportation bond request from the city in November.

The City Council is slated to vote June 15 to send the measure to the ballot.

Mayor John Giles said Mesa continues to quickly add residents, and the city must keep up with that growth and improve aging infrastructure.

“Ask anybody who lives in southeast Mesa if they spend too much time waiting in traffic, and the answer is ‘yes,'” Giles said. “Ask a lot of people who are driving some of our worn-out intersections in west and central Mesa if they need to be repaired, and the answer is ‘yes.'”
