The town of Fountain Hills has launched a new small business assistance grant program as part of its funding from the federal CARES Act in response to COVID-19.
Fountain Hills launched the small business grant program July 1st.
The town expects individual grants to local businesses to total no more than $5,000. The program has a $300,000 budget to help small businesses deal with the impact of COVID-19.
That includes help with paying for public health improvements and equipment at their places of businesses, help with paying rent as well as marketing and disruptions to business operations.
Fountain Hills is receiving $2.89 million from the CARES Act to respond to the health, fiscal and economic impacts of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The town is also waiving some business permit fees and allowing restaurants to use outdoor spaces to help with social distancing challenges.
Fountain Hills will offer the grants to local business until the funds are allocated.
