Arizona Corporation Commission: These 6 candidates are running for seats in November’s election

The Arizona Corporation Commission has five statewide elected officials, with three on the ballot this year and the other two up in 2022.

The commission decides things such as the current request by Arizona Public Service Co. to increase electric rates by $184 million annually, or whether Johnson Utilities in the far East Valley is better run by a management company than the owners who presided over a history of water shortages and sewer overflows.

And of course, they set the state’s clean-energy rules as well, mandating how much solar and wind utilities must use to meet consumer demand for electricity.

These are the candidates for the Arizona Corporation Commission:
