Avondale asks voters to approve sales tax increase

For Avondale residents, the Nov. 3 election ballot includes Proposition 443.

This is a request to increase the sales tax rate for items under $5,000 to 2.7% for a period of 25 years.

According to the city, the tax proceeds will be deposited in a Recreation and Quality of Life Tax Fund to be used for parks and amenities, sports and recreation facilities, open space and trails, and programming at new and existing facilities.
