Chandler to vote on new rock climbing gym

The Chandler City Council is scheduled to vote today on zoning and development plans for a new rock-climbing gym at Gilbert and Ryan Roads.

Arches Climbing + Fitness want to build the new facility totaling 33,000 square feet. The project will have 12,000 square feet of rock climbing areas that will be as tall as 52 feet.

The building is slated to be 62 feet tall, according to city documents.

The project will generate 39 permanent jobs.

There are potential future office and retail phases to the development which sits on 8.1 acres.
