Homebuilders target Surprise with big expansions of MPCs

Activity is heating up at two large master-planned communities across the street from each other in Surprise in the West Valley.

Tempe-based Fulton Homes has begun pre-sales of its 350-acre Escalante master-planned community, while Cavan Cos. just paid $5.45 million for 27 acres at the 3,500-acre Asante master-planned community with plans to build the first build-to-rent community at Asante.
