Surprise seeking short-term parks plan

Weeks after hearing the Parks and Recreation master plan, Surprise Vice Mayor Chris Judd asked for a faster plan.

During the future agenda items near the end of the Oct. 6 council meeting, Mr. Judd requested a presentation on the feasibility of adding another regional park in Surprise.

“What we’re interested in is the cost to build, the cost to operate and maintain, what kind of programming could be used to mitigate operational expenses, the sports and tourism benefit and also the economic impact. Then the biggest question, how do we fund it?” Mr. Judd said during the meeting.
