Eloy updates codes, revises permit fees

ELOY — Did you know that the City of Eloy has a $27.50 permit fee to replace your water heater?

It’s OK if you didn’t know, some council members didn’t know either.

During the Dec. 14 meeting the Eloy City Council adopted the 2018 International Codes and the 2017 National Electrical Code. In a 6-1 vote the council also approved to some revisions to the city’s building permits and inspection fees, Mayor Micah Powell voted against the fee revisions.
The new water heater placement fee will be $40.

“Do you think most residents are aware of this?” council member Dan Snyder asked. “Personally, I had a hot water tank replaced a couple years ago and I had no idea.”
