Scottsdale outlines Pima Road improvements

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The City of Scottsdale is moving forward with plans to improve Pima Road between Pinnacle Peak Road and Happy Valley Road.

City plans call for Pima Road to be widening to two to three lanes in each direction. There will also be new roadside culverts, bike lanes, sidewalks and paved shoulders built as part of the project.

The Pima Road corridor will also get new landscaped medians. A drainage channel will be built. A new alignment will be designed for a future “multi-use path”, according to city documents. A new sound barrier is also part of the design plans.

The project is adjacent to the La Mirada at Pinnacle Peak commercial center, existing residential subdivisions and as well undeveloped properties.
